Dear UHS Community,
I am thrilled to share the news that the board has voted unanimously that Nasif Iskander be named the Interim Head of School. Nasif has agreed to stay on in this role until June 30, 2026, when we partner with a new, permanent Head of School.
Over the last four months, many in our community, including trustees, parents and administration, have been able to spend time with Nasif and share the vision, values, and, importantly, a sense of care and his student-centered decision-making. One of Nasif's distinct strengths is his warmth and the manner in which he embodies UHS values. As a long-time teacher, administrator, parent as well as a former Interim Head at UHS, Nasif has the experience to guide our community while we execute on some important milestones.
This decision reflects Nasif's extraordinary work to launch a successful start and ensure that our entire community, from students to faculty, had a wonderful start to the year. We are especially grateful to have Nasif's leadership as we embark on one of the more exciting times at UHS: the completion of the California Street Campus, which will bring almost 40% more square footage to our campus, and the celebration of our 50th anniversary.
Please congratulate Nasif and thank him for his support during this time. His welcoming and gracious smile can be found everyday in the Head of School office and across campus at All School Meetings, Big Red Fridays, arts events, and more. We deeply appreciate his many contributions over the last 30 years and his willingness to embrace this important leadership role. In Partnership, Holly Hagens, Board Chair |
