Hello UHS Community,
We hope you had a restful break and are settling back into comfortable school rhythms. As an update to the Head of School search at UHS, we wanted to share some updates as well as the results of the community meetings and feedback sessions we had in late November.
In November, our four-person search team from RG175 had 30 separate in-person meetings over two days. The team met with groups ranging from the PGA, UHS Administration and Faculty/Staff to Students, Parents and Trustees. After this visit we sent surveys to the entirety of our community, including UHS alums.
We wanted to express our appreciation to many of you that took the time to meet with our search team and complete surveys. Your feedback was instrumental in creating the position statement for the Head of School.
- The community survey responses included 359 responses.

One of the more impressive responses were from our alumni cohort, which had a notable 146 responses.

Your feedback together with the time RG175 spent with all the constituents of our community and the Trustees and Head of School Search Committee was instrumental in creating the Position Statement for the Head of School. The Position Statement describes UHS, the opportunities and challenges ahead, and shares what we are looking for in our next Head of School. This is available on both the UHS website as well as the RG175 site.
Our UHS website contains all of our previous Head of School search communications as well as updates to the process. Our search partners are now actively reaching out to experienced educators as well as receiving interest from high quality candidates.
From now until early April will be the ongoing screening of candidates. Part of this screening will include a Faculty Staff Advisory Committee (FSAC) which will also be meeting high potential candidates and assist in narrowing our pool of finalists who will come to visit in April or early May. This finalist stage in April/May will be open to our entire community and we welcome your feedback on the selected finalists. Our goal is have the search completed by the end of the academic year in May.
